Established in 1986 by owner Anthony Rowland, Rowland Monuments continues to be a small family owned business who takes great pride in every memorial.  From the very beginning of his monumental journey, Anthony has always had the desire to serve the people by helping them memorialize their loved ones with monuments that their families could be proud of for many, many years. 

     Married in 1976, Anthony and Vickie Rowland always dreamed of owning their own business.   In 1981, they bought Pappy John's Bar-B-Que on Hwy 45 in Selmer, TN.  They talked several times about a monument business, and in 1986, marked the beginning of what is now Rowland Monuments.  They opened a small display next to the bar-b-que business.  In 1990, they moved to their current location on Main Street in Bethel Springs, TN.  Anthony started the business on his own, and in 1993, when the work became more than he could handle, Vickie joined him full time. 

     In 2000, Anthony and Vickie became two of the first "Certified Memorialist" in West Tennessee.  This is a high honor, of which they are very proud.  This accomplishment came after many hours of class and study to increase their knowledge of the monument business and the newest technology in the industry.  They have attended conventions in various states and performed numerous hours of public service work and activities that have increased their knowledge of the monument industry. 

     They are also members of MBNA, Monuments Builders of North America, an organization of business people from across the nation in the monument industry and Tennessee Monument Builders, a state organization of which both Anthony and Vikie are past Presidents.

     Not only does Rowland Monuments design all their monuments, all the carving and lettering is done on site at the company's own facilities.  Most companies sell a monument, then order it from another company and never actually touch the stone until it arrives to be set in the cemetery.  Rowland Monuments is the only company in the area who has these capabilities. 

     Anthony and Vickie's youngest daughter, Autumn, came to work with them full time in 2008.  She specializes in creative custom designs and sales.  She became a Certified Memorialist in 2015.  She married Daniel Raper from Denmark, TN and he joined the business in March of 2011 and became a Certified Memorialist in 2015 as well.  They, too, are past presidents of TMB.  They had a daughter, Ryleigh Jade, in 2013 and son, Andy, in 2017.  The Rowland's feel extremely blessed beyond measure and know that if it wasn't for God, they would not be where they are today.  We are not your "normal" family, yet we take that as a great compliment.  We are a family striving to do what is right and only want the best for everyone.  We see every piece of stone from beginning to end, and ensure that you will get exactly what you deserve... only the best!
